Inquest into death of 14 year old boy
In 2005, a fourteen your old boy named Joe Lister, drowned whilst on a school trip in Manchester Hole Cave, in the Yorkshire Dales. Now it is understood that North Yorkshire County Council is going to be charged under the ‘Health and Safety Act 2004′, in relation to the young man’s death. Lister was one of eleven pupils on the school trip. The case will be heard in Leeds Crown Court, which will take evidence from how the pupils were forced to swim to safety once water levels rose. Lister lived with his family in Steeton, near Tadcaster, in Yorkshire.
