The popular World Cup song, Three Lions by Baddiel and the Lightning Seeds, is going to be re-released with a twist. Robbie Williams, as well as Russell Brand and Olivia Safe. It was in 1969 that England last lifted the world cup, 41 years ago, and ten years since the original release of the song. It is still sung by fans nationwide, and is the Nation’s favourite football song. Olivia gives the song an operatic touch, which actually suits the track well, with Williams being the lead singer, and Brand a backing singer. He single is on sale on i Tunes.
Nike, the worldwide famous US sports brand has delivered a comical advert, for all football fans. In the fairly long advert, Rooney is seen at the World Cup wrecking England’s chances. As a result, newspaper articles including ‘Roo-ined’ are advertised. Rooney is then seen getting older in a dirty caravan, sporting a long beard and trampy clothing. The advert then rolls back and shows Rooney sliding in for the ball, and helping England win the World Cup. The advert also includes a ‘Simpson’ designed Cristiano Ronaldo character, who passes the ball through Homer Simpson’s legs, resulting in Homer shouting ‘Ronal-DOH’, with the Portugal winger winking at the camera.
Mean Girl’s actress and pop singer Lindsay Lohan is due to go to court for a hearing. Lohan was arrested due to drinking under the influence of alcohol in 2007, and has finally gone to court. Lohan flew back from the Cannes film festival in France to the US, in order to participate at the hearing. The 23 year old actress managed to avoid arrest last week, when she paid $70,000 bail, and had to wear a SCRAM bracelet, which monitor’s the user’s alcohol consumption. It is alleged that during that time, Lohan enjoyed several glasses of red wine when catching a flight to London, to go back to the US.
Ronan Keating, member of boy band group Boyzone, has a fight on his hands to save hie marriage. The ‘Life is a Rollercoaster’ singer had an affair with backing dancer Francine Cornell, and is desperate to save his marriage with Yvonne. Keating has been married to his wife for twelve years now, and would be distraught if it ended because of the affair. Keating has taken three weeks of music and business to fly back to his family home in Dublin to talk with his wife. The 33 year old singer performed in Switzerland with his band mates for the Sky Dance festival.
Cheryl Cole, a judge on the panel for hit UK music audition show the X-factor, as well as a current member of successful pop group ‘Girls Aloud’, admits that her mother is her biggest role model. The 26 year old admits that her mother, Joan Callaghan, has a positive outlook on life and this is one of the things which helped Cole become a better person. Cole remarks how some women will comment about other women in a harshly critical way, which is somewhat different with Joan, as she sees everybody as being lovely. Cole admits she is a role model herself, and is proud.
